Around 1 in 4 adults carry group B Strep – usually without knowing. While it is usually harmless in adults, it can cause life-threatening infections in newborn babies when passed on around birth.
Most infections are preventable – but many parents are never told. And in the UK, routine testing is still not offered during pregnancy.
This Group B Strep Awareness Week (8–14 July), we’re calling for change.
